Park Kyung-rim hinted at a "new eardrum boyfriend."
On the 23rd, SBS's new music audition Our Ballad premiered.
Twenty-year-old Hong Seung-min introduced himself as the youngest in a family of musicians. The panel unanimously praised him as having a Topback-ghost vibe, saying he reminded them of Choi Woo-shik, Shownu, Lee Jeong-ha and Paul Kim. Hong Seung-min said his family majored in vocal music and piano, and explained that he also trained in classical vocal music before trying ballad.
Hong Seung-min performed Kang Su-ji's "Scattered Days." With no acceptance light lit until the end and everyone worried, the acceptance sign turned on dramatically. Hong Seung-min said, "(The lights) were patchy so I thought 'is this it?'"
Jun Hyun-moo said, "Votes piled up at the end. He seems most similar to a traditional balladeer. He gave me a Kyuhyun vibe." Cha Tae-hyun added, "He reminded me of a '90s balladeer."
On the other hand, Jung Jae-hyung criticized, "He naturally has a good voice. I think it was the kind of thought like 'this could work as pop music.' He needs to study. Have you studied diction and phrasing suited to ballad? When I hear the song it's warm but I don't see any edge."
Park Kyung-rim added, "A new eardrum boyfriend could be born. It's a voice that's so good at stirring women's hearts."
