"Geudaeege Dream" Hwang In-yeop and Lee Hye-ri complete a dream pairing.
The Genie TV original drama "Geudaeege Dream," scheduled for release in 2026 (directed by Yoo Seon-dong, written by Jeong Eun-bi, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Contents Planner·Big Ocean E&M), is a romantic comedy that depicts the reunion aftermath of genius film director Woo Su-bin (played by Hwang In-yeop), who returned after fulfilling his dream, and livelihood-driven reporter Joo I-jae (played by Lee Hye-ri), who lives having forgotten her dream. It tells the story of young people who once dreamed the same dream and left a film unfinished, and who rewrite an unfinished love, offering delightful yet heart-fluttering realistic empathy.
Above all, the meeting of Hwang In-yeop and Lee Hye-ri, who have proven global popularity and topicality and continue to be trendsetters, drew explosive attention from domestic and international fans. In addition, director Yoo Seon-dong, who won public love with Trigger, The Uncanny Counter 1 and 2, and Bad and Crazy, takes the helm, and writer Jeong Eun-bi, who participated in writing My Home's Front Door Brought Destruction One Day, Mr. Sunshine, and Goblin, is responsible for the screenplay, heightening expectations.
Hwang In-yeop takes on a new acting transformation as Woo Su-bin, a genius film director who appeared like a comet and a man who returned to become the present. In the story, Woo Su-bin lived only in a world designed by his parents through his teenage years, broke out of his shell and ran fiercely in his twenties, and finally became a film director who achieved his dream. After his first feature film swept overseas film festivals and he made a spectacular debut, he returns to Korea to meet Joo I-jae, his true dream.
Hwang In-yeop said, "I am happy and excited that I will be able to show a new side through the role of 'Woo Su-bin.' Director Yoo Seon-dong, writer Jeong Eun-bi, and I am doing my best so we can present a good work with many actors, so I ask for your interest," adding, "I hope you look forward to the new synergy and chemistry between actor Lee Hye-ri and me."
Lee Hye-ri adds another life character as Joo I-jae, a livelihood-driven reporter with passion and skill and a woman who staggers while regretting her past. After a teenage period when she feared nothing because of one dream, she passed through a frustrated twenties blocked by the walls of reality and now lives as a reporter who seems to have become just another adult. She is a successful reporter with the stamina to travel the country, a charming wit and affability, and even local dialect patches completed, earning a regular corner under her name, but she lives with a hidden emptiness. For Woo Su-bin, "dream" is love, but for Joo I-jae, it is "tragedy." The news that Woo Su-bin left on a certain day when they were nineteen, when they dreamed of becoming film directors together, makes her recall the dream she had erased from her life.
Lee Hye-ri said, "I think I will be able to show various sides through 'Joo I-jae.' I am also preparing with excitement, so please look forward to it," adding that expectations are higher than ever for Lee Hye-ri's return to romantic comedy as she continues to demonstrate an unlimited acting spectrum.
Meanwhile, the Genie TV original drama "Geudaeege Dream" will first air on channel ENA in 2026 and will be exclusively released as free VOD on KT Genie TV.
