Singer Kang Daniel has suffered a string of setbacks during his U.S. tour, drawing sympathy from fans. But voices of support saying "let's think of it as having warded off bad luck" have also continued.
Kang Daniel suffered a theft while traveling ahead of his San Jose concert in the United States on the 20th (local time). According to his agency Aira, at the time a thief broke into a staff vehicle and stole a suitcase containing stage costumes, hair and makeup tools, and even MD goods. In the end, staff members had to hurry to nearby shopping malls to buy new costumes and supplies. Kang Daniel also posted on social media, "All our luggage was stolen. Still, let's make it a joyful show," showing unwavering determination that moved fans.
But the ordeal did not end there. A concert scheduled for the 6th (local time) in New Jersey was suddenly canceled two hours before it was to begin. Fans who came to the venue could not hide their bewilderment, and it was even more heartbreaking because Kang Daniel had already arrived at the venue. He went on stage to apologize to fans in person and expressed his sincerity.
The agency said, "We judged that it was difficult to guarantee a safe and high-quality stage because of insufficient local system preparation and operational problems," and explained, "Forcing ahead with a performance in an incomplete environment could be a greater insult to fans, so we had no choice but to decide to cancel." Tickets will be automatically refunded in full.
Although unexpected incidents and accidents have continued, fans have instead sent messages of support such as "this counts as having warded off bad luck," "only good things will come from now on," and "it's admirable that he keeps doing his best until the end."
Kang Daniel will continue his tour of major U.S. cities including Washington, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and will later meet fans on stages in South America such as Argentina and Brazil. His path, not stopping his passion for the stage even amid trials, is expected to shine even more going forward.
