Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Woo-bin and Doh Kyung Soo, who led GBRB, return with Kong Kong Pang Pang.
tvN's Kong sim-eun de kong naseo useum pang haengbok pang overseas exploration (directed by Na Young-seok, Ha Mu-seong, Shim Eun-jeong) (hereafter "Kong Kong Pang Pang") is confirmed to premiere on Oct. 17 (Fri.) at 8:40 p.m. The episodes of Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Woo-bin and Doh Kyung Soo, who flew to Mexico to broaden their horizons, target viewers' sense of humor.
"Kong Kong Pang Pang" follows KKPP Food employees who succeeded in a mission called "where you plant beans, beans sprout; if you eat rice, you gain strength" as they embark on an overseas exploration to Mexico to seek insights for company development. It is the second spin-off program of "where you plant beans, beans sprout; where you plant red beans, red beans sprout."
KKPP Food CEO Lee Kwang-soo and Deputy Minister Doh Kyung Soo are joined by Kim Woo-bin as an internal audit team member, promising a cheerful chemistry. In particular, the three will plan the overseas itinerary themselves, including the country, accommodations and activities. Under pressure from headquarters to fund the overseas exploration, they try to meet the budget and sometimes attempt negotiations, adding to the viewing fun.
The released first teaser, a 42-second version, offers a glimpse of the KKPP Food employees' clumsy exploration, drawing attention. Lee Kwang-soo expresses the suppressed anguish in his chest, saying, "I can't broaden my horizons because I don't have money right now," and "No, it smells so I can't sleep. I'm dying of itchiness because of ants!" which provokes laughter.
He then delivers a charged line, "We were scammed, to be precise. If my mother sees this, she'll cry," raising expectations for another legendary season. In addition, Lee Kwang-soo, saying the situation doesn't fit the show and that he doesn't even know the program's title, elicits roars of laughter.
Meanwhile, the first teaser 15-second version shows Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Woo-bin and Doh Kyung Soo heading somewhere by boat. Their expressions, moving in silence with facial masks on, say a lot and foreshadow a Mexico journey that will not be easy.
Also, the released "Kong Kong Pang Pang" poster appears to be an extension of the first teaser 15-second version and draws interest. Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Woo-bin and Doh Kyung Soo raise both arms with rather serious expressions, prompting curiosity about what their pose might mean.
