Lee Joo-young, Ji Seung-hyun and Koo Jun-hoe star in the dramax×Wavve original drama "Danjoe," which captures attention from episode 1 with intense setup and rapid development.
From the pre-release footage, "Danjoe," which drew attention for its immersive progression, is a crime thriller that uses increasingly serious real-world cybercrimes such as voice phishing and deepfakes as its subject.
In episode 1, which airs on the 24th, the once-happy family is shown shattering overnight, foreshadowing an unpredictable development. Unnamed theater actor Ha So-min (Lee Joo-young) does not give up her passion for the stage despite the poor conditions of the troupe and unpaid fees. Wanting to show the play she stars in to her parents, she sends invitation tickets, and on the day of the performance, her mother heads to the flower shop to buy a bouquet to give her daughter.
At that time, Ma Seok-gu (Ji Seung-hyun) of the drug organization "Ilseong-pa" hastily flees to avoid a police spot check. Afterward, Ha So-min's mother disappears, and the shocked family files a missing person report at the police station.
Meanwhile, Ha So-min unexpectedly reunites with Park Jung-hoon (Koo Jun-hoe), a former police academy classmate who is now a detective, and together they trace the missing mother's tracks. But as the story progresses, they encounter another shocking incident, and at the end of the broadcast Ha So-min breaks into tears of overwhelming loss.
Meanwhile, "Danjoe" raises viewers' immersion from the first episode by dealing with reality-based crimes. Ji Seung-hyun's chilling villain performance and the narrative to unfold around Lee Joo-young, along with his chemistry with Koo Jun-hoe, heighten viewers' tension.
The dramax×Wavve original drama "Danjoe" premieres Sept. 24 on Dramax at 9:40 p.m. and on Wavve at 9:30 p.m.
