With the "Indie 30th anniversary festival & exhibition" one day away, it welcomes fans with abundant attractions.
The "Indie 30th anniversary festival & exhibition" will be held for two days on Sept. 25 and 26 at ㅎㄷ(Hongdae) Cafe in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It is an occasion to look back on the 30-year path Korean indie music has walked, serving as a bridge connecting generations of the indie scene while being a festival where artists and fans breathe together.
On the rooftop main stage of the "Indie 30th anniversary festival & exhibition," indie rock bands representing the scene will perform unmissable shows: on the 25th Crying Nut, O.O.O (O.O.O), Fishing Girls, and on the 26th No Brain, The Fix, Mongdol.
On the fourth-floor stage, musicians with diverse charms will put on busking performances, including Kang Hwi, Han Note, Hoopy, Oh Hee-jung, Bennie (Beni), Nam Gyu-won, Jang Yeoreum, Yu Aepo, Yu Yeon, Penguin Is Not, Nam Garo, Jung Soo-in, Punk Edu Club, Gawill (Gawil), Pete Jung, OmO (Omo).
Various events will also take place throughout the venue. On the fifth-floor gallery, a photo exhibition and photo zone will operate, and MD T-shirts featuring the logos of a total of 51 teams will be sold. In addition, interactive events in which audiences can participate will be held, such as "Memory Deliverer" and "You write lyrics, Indie30 composes." In the seventh-floor media space, documentaries related to the indie 30th anniversary will be screened, and at the eighth-floor cafe, customers who order drinks can receive cup holders engraved with the names of 100 indie musicians.
The "Indie 30th anniversary festival & exhibition" commemorates the 30th anniversary of the indie scene, which began in the 1990s Hongdae club culture and opened a new horizon in the history of Korean popular music, and fans are expected to once again feel the energy and spirit of indie music. Through stages by artists spanning generations, it is anticipated that audiences will experience a flow connecting the past, present and future.
Meanwhile, hosted and organized by MY Music and sponsored by the Korea Music Solidarity Cooperative, the "Indie 30th anniversary festival & exhibition" was selected for the popular music space planning support project of the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and is receiving production support.
