(Following interview ②) Actress Uhm Jung-hwa expressed deep regret that My Troublesome Star is ending as a 12-episode series.
On the afternoon of the 23rd at a café in Gangnam District, Seoul, a finale interview was held with Uhm Jung-hwa, who played Bong Cheong-ja (Im Se-ra) in the Genie TV original drama My Troublesome Star.
My Troublesome Star is a tearful, snot-flying, time-flying romantic comedy that unfolds after South Korea's top star suddenly becomes an ordinary middle-aged woman overnight.
My Troublesome Star, which premiered on the 18th of last month, aired its final episode on the 23rd, closing the curtain on 12 episodes. Especially just one episode before the finale, viewers voiced mixed complaints that the drama was too short as Bong Cheong-ja recovered 25 years of memories she had forgotten and launched into full-fledged revenge.
In relation to this, Uhm Jung-hwa also expressed regret about the drama ending so quickly, saying, "Twelve episodes feels a bit lacking. It passes by too fast. Time goes by too quickly."
When asked about the possibility of a season 2, Uhm Jung-hwa joked and drew laughter, saying, "If we could do that it would be great... please push for it," adding, "'My Troublesome Husband,' 'My Troublesome Scrap' or something like that."
Also, since the interview took place before the final episode aired, when asked about the ending Uhm Jung-hwa expressed satisfaction, saying, "It feels like they self-destruct. I really like that. The villains self-destruct. But in the final episode everyone gets punished in that way. It ends with a very pretty, happy ending scene. I really choked up when we filmed that happy ending scene.
