Shin Ye Eun, Rowoon and Park Seo-ham shared their impressions.
On the 23rd at the Elliena Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul, a production press conference for Disney+'s The Murky Stream was held. Attendees included Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun, Park Seo-ham, Park Ji-hwan, Choi Gwi-hwa, Kim Dong-won and director Chu Chang-min.
The Murky Stream, Disney+'s first original historical drama series, which will be released on Sept. 26 (Fri), is an action drama about people who dreamed different dreams to live with dignity as they upend a corrupt world surrounding Gyeonggang, where all of Joseon's money and goods gather.
Shin Ye Eun plays Choi Eun, a merchant who leads Joseon's top trading company, and shared her impressions of working with Rowoon and Park Seo-ham.
Shin Ye Eun said, "What I felt a lot from watching the two of them was that Rowoon has experienced much more than I have; even though we are the same age, he has a lot of life experience. On the outside he may seem endlessly bright, but inside he is solid and weighty — I felt that on set too. I was really moved a lot, and I thought he will grow into an even bigger actor. Not physically, but emotionally. That's what I thought."
She added, "As for Seo-ham, it was like a tear button; can someone love acting this much? I could feel how much he respects the profession of acting. I don't know what projects we'll meet in next, but wherever Seo-ham acts and whatever acting he does, I will unconditionally support him. There must be reasons behind Seo-ham's acting, and I felt he will grow more; even though we are the same age, I felt there was much I could learn from him," she said, conveying warmth.
Rowoon replied, "When I heard I'd be working with Ye-eun, I was told she is a really hardworking friend. On set I was almost scantily clad, so even when it was hot I didn't feel that hot. Ye-eun must have been uncomfortable wearing layers of costumes, but when she came in tired the atmosphere brightened. When we acted a scene together, I was very nervous. But watching Ye-eun, she helped me a lot, like 'this is how you should do it.' I want to work again with such a passionate actor; I thought I had met a precious, treasure-like actor."
Park Seo-ham also said, "Rowoon tried to give me more than 100. I could really feel that he wanted me to do well. He always tried to tell me everything he knew. I felt he truly loves acting and has a lot of passion; even while struggling he ran around. Even when it wasn't his scene, he watched the monitor and gave comments," and added, "Actress Ye-eun also always suggested we do script readings first. On set she made me feel relaxed. She would take walks and talk. She made the space feel familiar."
