Actor Oh Jeong-yeon will show a new acting transformation as the lead in the new short-form drama "Suji, Suji," which will be released on Naver TV.
"Suji, Suji" is a meticulous revenge drama in which desire, jealousy and the karmic consequences of the past carry over into the present. It depicts the confrontation between Oh Su-ji (35), who once lived according to her desires while being sponsored by a wealthy man, and Jeong Su-ji (20), who vows revenge, blaming him for her parents' tragic deaths. On the surface she has transformed into an elegant Cheongdam-dong wife, but Oh Su-ji must face the price of her past sins, and the fierce two faces of Jeong Su-ji, who seeks to destroy that life, clash to create explosive tension in this short-form drama.
Oh Jeong-yeon's role, Oh Su-ji, is the central character of the work, a character who once enjoyed a glamorous youth with her looks and charm and lived by compromising with the world. Through identity laundering and marriage she lives as a more perfect wife and respected mother than anyone, but she is a person shaken by the shadow of a past that could be revealed at any time.
On the surface she is stable and glamorous, but inwardly she is a character with duality in which desire and anxiety intersect, and through this work Oh Jeong-yeon breaks away from her previous dignified and intellectual image to transform into a character that contrasts with her recent roles.
Oh Jeong-yeon has broadened her activities diversely through drama, theater and broadcast MC roles, building a varied career, and her casting as the lead in the Naver TV short-form drama accelerates her acting trajectory.
Meanwhile, the Naver TV short-form drama "Suji, Suji" is scheduled to premiere next month on Oct. 7 as a total of 48 episodes.
