Actor Park Jeong-woo has been cast in the new drama "Idol I."
Park Jeong-woo has confirmed he will appear as Choi Jae-hee in Genie TV original drama "Idol I," directed by Lee Kwang-young, written by Kim Da-rin, planned by KT Studio Genie, and produced by ASTORY, scheduled to be released later this year.
"Idol I" is a mystery courtroom romance that unfolds when fanboy-obsessed star lawyer Maeng Se-na (played by Choi Soo-young) takes on the case of her "ultimate" favorite, Do Ra-ik (played by Kim Jae-young), who has been accused of murder.
In "Idol I," Park Jeong-woo plays Choi Jae-hee, the drummer of Gold Boys, the band Do Ra-ik belongs to. Choi Jae-hee is a person who constantly clashes with the team's vocalist Do Ra-ik and has a fiery personality that does not hesitate to trade punches with him.
In the story, Park Jeong-woo is expected to portray Choi Jae-hee's varied charms and psychological changes through delicate acting as he repeatedly clashes with Do Ra-ik. Having proven a wide acting spectrum across genres and roles through various works, expectations are high for the fresh acting transformation and scene-stealer performance he will show in "Idol I."
So far, Park Jeong-woo has built a solid filmography by appearing in various works such as the dramas Dear.M, I Am A Running Mate, The Strange Boss Who Only Buys Meals, The Boss's Meal Plan, Running Mate, and the films The Hunter, Disappearance, Happy Birthday, Forest, The King of Rock Paper Scissors, and Killing Talk, as well as appearing in music videos for singers Lee Mu-jin and Paul Kim.
In particular, in last year's Disney+ original series "Killers' Shopping Mall," he appeared as Honda, the deaf former colleague of Jeong Jin-man (played by Lee Dong-wook), flawlessly performing advanced sign language and action acting to inject breathless tension into the drama. In the drama "Good Boy," which ended in July, he played Ryu-ga, the right-hand man of Baek Ga (played by Ahn Se-ho), boss of the organized crime group Dongbukhoe, portraying a bloodless, ruthless side with delicate acting and effectively serving as the drama's spice.
