Actor Jeong Yuna successfully completed a London performance.
From Sep. 12 to 14, at the Candid Arts Trust in London, England, she gave a passionate performance as Anxiety in the play It's Okay Not to Be Okay.
Written and directed by Woody, the piece was conceived as an exhibition-style play titled As If I Were a Chair: A Room Where Anxiety Walks, featuring more than 10 London-based writers, including Caroline Ashley, Xiaoting Chu and Cameron Jahbi.
The play, designed to blend with exhibition works, was in effect a one-person show focusing attention on the fact that the only character who moves and speaks live was Anxiety, played by actor Jeong Yuna. As the first Korean actor to appear in this unusual project that spans exhibition and theatrical performance, Jeong Yuna's acting drew praise from local critics and audiences.
Jeong Yuna said she felt immensely honored to collaborate with exhibition art in London, the birthplace of culture and the arts, and noted, based on her experience working with installation artists in the 2022 London production A first class, that she worked to blend into the artwork while helping the public understand the piece as much as possible.
Actor Jeong Yuna signed an exclusive contract in 2024 with local U.K. agency Taga Management Limited and has been actively working; she plans to meet audiences through stages such as musicals and plays not only in the U.K. but also in Korea.
