Disney+'s original series "North Star" drew explosive cheers and interest in Busan.
North Star, which tells the story of Munju (Jun Ji-hyun), who has built an international reputation as a U.N. ambassador and is chasing the forces behind the assassination attempt on a presidential candidate, and Sanho (Gang Dong-won), a stateless special agent who must protect her, confronting a huge truth that threatens the Korean Peninsula, concluded the special screening and stage greeting for episodes 4-5 held on Sept. 19 (Fri) at Lotte Cinema Gwangbok successfully, proving the heated enthusiasm in Busan.
Episodes 4-5 of North Star, released on Sept. 17 (Wed), included various scenes of Busan including Suyeongman. The event, prepared for Busan citizens who cooperated with the filming of North Star, a location-support project of the Busan Film Commission, was attended by Gang Dong-won, Lee Sang-hee, Joo Jong-hyuk and director Heo Myung-haeng, who shared a meaningful time.
Gang Dong-won said, "I am very glad to be able to meet you at the theater during the Busan International Film Festival. Please enjoy North Star and give us lots of support." Lee Sang-hee said, "I'm excited that you can watch North Star on the big screen. I hope you take home joyful memories from Busan." Joo Jong-hyuk said, "I'm excited that you can see it not only on Disney+ but also in theaters. Please give North Star lots of love." Director Heo Myung-haeng said, "Thank you for making the precious trip. Please continue to show great interest in the episodes that will be released next week," delivering heartfelt thanks and special impressions at the screening in Busan, which was also a filming location for North Star. In addition, they heated up the atmosphere with generous fan service, giving attendees a delightful time.
Meanwhile, with the opening ceremony on the 17th, the 30th Busan International Film Festival is being held successfully, and North Star has been a hot topic as it could be found throughout the festival venues. The North Star visuals hung at Grand Josun Busan and Glory Condo Haeundae further heated the venue's enthusiasm and prompted many to take photos.
With a special screening, stage greeting and outdoor advertisements, North Star shone brightly in Busan and is expected to raise anticipation by presenting an unpredictable, thrilling spy romance in episodes 6-7 to be released next.
