Cha Tae-hyun showed tears on "Our Ballad."
On the 23rd, at the SBS building in Mokdong, Yangcheon District, Seoul, a press conference was held for the new variety program "Our Ballad." At the press conference, PD Jung Ik-seung attended along with Jung Jae-hyung, Cha Tae-hyun, Jun Hyun-moo, Danny Koo, Crush, and Jung Seung-hwan to talk.
"Our Ballad" is a music audition program that shares life ballads that accompanied every moment in memory and seeks the new voices of today's youngsters to newly sing the ballads that were your and my songs back then. Among participants including 150 people, including the Top Baek-gwi representative team composed of a diverse spectrum such as Jung Jae-hyung, Cha Tae-hyun, Choo Sung Hoon, Jun Hyun-moo, Park Kyung-rim, Danny Koo, Crush, Jung Seung-hwan, and Oh My Girl's Mimi, the program will look for gems with an average participant age of 18.2.
In the pre-release video revealed at the press conference, the song of 19-year-old girl Lee Ye-ji, who came up from Jeju, was also revealed. Lee Ye-ji, who chose "For You," explained the reason for her choice: "During school days, my father's commute to work and my way to school overlapped. When riding the truck, four songs played on infinite repeat, and one of those songs was 'For You.'"
Lee Ye-ji's song received the choice of the nine Top Baek-gwi representatives and moved the scene. After hearing the song, Cha Tae-hyun shed tears. When asked the reason for his tears, Cha Tae-hyun said, "I thought of the father on the beach. That father is me," expressing his emotion.
Regarding this, at the scene Cha Tae-hyun said, "I'm embarrassed that it was released unintentionally. I was sincere then. The tears came out without my knowing." Cha Tae-hyun said, "I worried while filming that it might be really boring, but when we actually filmed, it wasn't like that. The chemistry among the nine of us matched well and was fun, so that part will also satisfy the fun."
Meanwhile, SBS' "Our Ballad" premieres at 9 p.m. on the 23rd.
