"In the river Lee, the moon flows" features actors Kang Tae-oh and Kim Se-jeong whose souls are swapped overnight.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama "In the river Lee, the moon flows" (writer Jo Seung-hee, director Lee Dong-hyun), which will premiere on Oct. 31, has released two teaser posters and a special poster for the first time, sharply raising expectations.
"In the river Lee, the moon flows" is a romance fantasy historical drama about a soul swap between a crown prince who has lost his smile and a bubosang who has lost his memory, empathizing by putting oneself in the other's shoes (易地四肢). Previously, the meeting between Kang Tae-oh, who plays Crown Prince Lee Gang, and Kim Se-jeong, who will portray bubosang Park Dal-i, drew intense interest.
The released teaser posters capture the unusual relationship between Crown Prince Lee Gang (played by Kang Tae-oh) and bubosang Park Dal-i (played by Kim Se-jeong), drawing attention. In one version, Lee Gang holds Park Dal-i like a paper doll with a prickly expression, while in another version, Park Dal-i in royal attire wears a sly smile as she holds Lee Gang, who has become a bubosang.
The phrase "soul switch chaotic opposite-romance" adds to the posters, foreshadowing an exciting development where the two characters' souls are swapped. The fact that they differ in gender, social status and even personality raises curiosity about what will happen to these two completely different people.
In the special poster, Lee Gang appears to be perched on top of Park Dal-i's paeraengi hat. An illustrated landscape reminiscent of an ink wash painting spreads across the hat, and the contrast between Park Dal-i's laughter-filled eyes and Lee Gang's expression as he clutches the cotton decoration on the hat creates a witty contrast, raising expectations for the unusual chemistry between the two characters.
Through its first posters, "In the river Lee, the moon flows" hints at a special bond between the crown prince and the bubosang who would seem to have no connection, stoking curiosity. Especially since the looks of Kang Tae-oh (as Lee Gang) and Kim Se-jeong (as Park Dal-i) in character have been revealed for the first time, attention is drawn to their activities as a "reliable rom-com pairing" that will create fantastic synergy. It premieres on Friday, Oct. 31 at 9:50 p.m.
