Actor Rowoon shared his feelings ahead of enlistment.
On the 23rd at the Eliena Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul, a production press conference was held for Disney+ "The Murky Stream." Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun, Park Seo-ham, Park Ji-hwan, Choi Gwi-hwa, Kim Dong-won and director Chu Chang-min attended the event.
"The Murky Stream," Disney+'s first original historical drama series, to be released on Sept. 26 (Fri), is an action drama about people who each dreamed different dreams to live like humans and who carve out their fates as they overturn a corrupt world surrounding Gyeonggang, where all of Joseon's money and goods gather.
Rowoon plays Jang Si-yul, a ruffian of Mapo ferry village, and is scheduled to enlist for active duty on Oct. 27.
On this, Rowoon began, "Originally my enlistment was in July. It was postponed due to circumstances, but I think this is a blessing."
He continued, "This was my first time going to the Busan International Film Festival, and seeing it on video I think my stomach must have hurt a lot. I think promoting this work that I love is part of my responsibility, and I am doing my duty by promoting it diligently. I'm glad I can go like this."
He also joked, "I will return healthy. I love acting so much that I don't think I'll rest; I'll keep acting," adding, "Senior Ji-hwan said he would send a lot of books and told me to build up my mental nourishment. I'll be waiting."
