Group i-dle (아이들) member Yuqi (YUQI) achieved a meaningful result with her first single.
On the 23rd, according to Hanteo Chart, South Korea's largest album sales tracking site, Yuqi's first single "Motivation" recorded first-week sales (sales during the first week from release date) of 414,547 copies. Along with this, Yuqi proved her presence as a solo singer by reaching No. 1 on the album chart for the third week of September.
Following her mini album 1 "YUQ1," released last year, becoming a half-million seller, her first single also recorded high first-week sales figures, once again showing the strong support of her global fandom.
"Motivation" stood out not only on album charts but also on digital music charts. Right after its release, "Motivation" simultaneously topped the daily digital album bestseller charts on China's largest music services QQ Music and Kugou Music, and the title track "M.O." rose to No. 1 on domestic music site Bugs' real-time chart, sweeping music charts at home and abroad.
Released on the 16th, Yuqi's first single "Motivation" is an album that includes three self-composed songs: the title track "M.O.," "Apuda" and a Chinese version of "Apuda" titled "痛" (Haitongma). Yuqi personally wrote and composed all the songs, expanding her musical spectrum by handling various genres from hip-hop to rock.
Meanwhile, Yuqi is meeting global fans through the "YUQI 1st Single [Motivation] POP-UP" pop-ups commemorating the release of "Motivation" in seven Asian cities.
