Netflix is considering producing seasons 2 and 3 of "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" simultaneously.
On the 23rd, a Netflix representative told OSEN, "We appreciate the interest in "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call." The production of sequels is currently under review. Nothing has been finalized yet," in an official statement.
That morning, one outlet reported that Netflix had confirmed simultaneous production of seasons 2 and 3 of the original series "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" and that filming was planned to begin around summer 2026.
"The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" is a drama about genius surgeon Baek Gang-hyeok (Ju Jihoon), who roamed the battlefield and is appointed to revive a largely ineffective severe trauma team, leading to a thrilling story. It was adapted into a drama from the popular web novel and webtoon of the same name written by otolaryngologist Lee Nak-jun.
In particular, the drama was released as an eight-episode series on Netflix on Jan. 24 and drew great attention. It also rose to the top of Netflix's global non-English TV shows chart as well as domestically. With expectations for a follow-up, speculation grew about whether not only season 2 but also season 3 would be produced simultaneously.
