The Fireworks Fighters broke through Seoul High's intense pressure to take the lead.
On the 22nd at 8 p.m., the 21st episode of the baseball variety show "Fireworks Baseball," released on Studio C1's official YouTube channel, depicted the Fighters breaking through Seoul High's solid pitching staff to stage a 2-1 comeback.
Fighters' starting pitcher Yoo Hee-gwan climbed the mound determined to make up for disappointing pitching in his last outing. He retired the side in order in the first and second innings with full-effort pitching and his characteristic precise command.
Seoul High started Han Soo-dong, who was selected by the Samsung Lions in the 2026 KBO rookie draft. With his velocity consistently in the high 140 km/h range, the Fighters' lineup had difficulty generating offense. The Fighters created a chance to score in the first inning with a hit-by-pitch by Park Yong-taek and a straight-ball walk to Lee Dae-ho, but they failed to bring a run home due to a lack of follow-up hits.
In the top of the third, Yoo Hee-gwan suddenly struggled. He gave up the game's first hit to the No. 7 batter Kim Tae-seong, and Seoul High executed a sacrifice bunt to put a runner in scoring position. After giving up a first-pitch leadoff hit to the No. 1 batter Lee Si-won, Yoo used perfect coordination with first baseman Lee Dae-ho to pick off a runner for an out and finished the inning without allowing any further runs.
In the bottom of the third, Seoul High replaced the pitcher with the school's ace and "two hearts" Park Ji-seong. He dominated the game tempo by inducing swings from the Fighters with his changeup. Meanwhile, Park Yong-taek hit a single to preserve the Fighters' pride and advanced to second base as Park Ji-seong's pitches got away. However, Park Ji-seong's strong pitching again shut down scoring, and the Fighters could not hide their dismay.
As the tough game continued, manager Kim Sung-geun made an early strategic move in the top of the fifth. He pulled Yoo Hee-gwan after giving up a hit and brought in the Fighters' reliable one-puncher Lee Dae-eun to the mound. Lee turned a double play against the next batter, Seoul High's Song Ji-yoon, repaying manager Kim's trust.
In the bottom of the fifth, under manager Kim Sung-geun's bold move, the Fighters seized an opportunity to take the lead. Im Sang-woo, who came to the plate with Kim Jae-ho batting, drew a walk after a persistent battle for the count, and Jung Geun-woo drove a sharp-lined hit for an RBI double to tie the game. Stimulated by that, Seoul High responded with an aggressive choice to change pitchers quickly. In turn, manager Kim Sung-geun sent in pinch-hitter Moon Kyo-won to maintain the offensive momentum. Moon recorded a hit, and in the next at-bat Park Yong-taek hit a deep sacrifice fly to bring home runner Jung Geun-woo from third, completing the 2-1 comeback and showing the captain's dignity.
Next week's broadcast will present the second in-person story between the Fighters and Seoul High. Riding the momentum, the Fighters plan to overwhelm with fierce hitting, while Seoul High intends to counter by fielding a two-way player attracting attention even from Major League Baseball for a head-to-head battle.
