The rookie group CORTIS from BigHit Music graced the digital covers of fashion magazines Vogue and W simultaneously.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) on the 23rd released digital covers and interviews with fashion magazines Vogue Korea (VOGUE KOREA) and W Korea (W KOREA) October issues. A rookie that debuted just over a month ago was chosen simultaneously as the cover model for major magazines. This pictorial will appear not only digitally but also in the October print issue. Vogue Korea dedicated a total of 22 pages to CORTIS, and W Korea prepared an edition book filled with them across 60 pages including the cover. The back cover was shot by the members themselves, adding special meaning.
Vogue Korea's pictorial was inspired by CORTIS's debut album track "FaSHioN." Drawing from lyrics that say "gather at Dongmyo like a seminar," the shoot took place at locations such as Dongmyo and Cheonggyecheon. The members mixed and matched outfits from famous brands with vintage looks to show their individuality, freely posing on the street to flaunt their charm. In the interview that accompanied the pictorial, their side as a "young creator crew" that jointly creates the team's main content shone through. Martin and James respectively said, "There is nothing as fun as making music and the arts surrounding music," and "The most important thing in my performances is communication. I deeply consider whether the audience can fully enjoy our stage."
W Korea, inspired by the main message of the title track "What You Want" and the intro track "GO!," captured five boys at the starting line. Under various concepts, CORTIS proved their photogenic sides and limitless adaptability. "I believe you have to produce what I truly feel is good, and only when the result comes out that way can the creator's color be clearly seen" (Juhun), "When working on the title track 'What You Want,' a topline I recorded freestyle was reflected a lot in the final version" (Sunghyun), "I think our weapon as a team is to express our color honestly without limits. If something we want to try comes up during the creative process, we don't hesitate and try it right away" (Geonho) — these intimate interview remarks are also points you can't miss.
More photos and interviews of CORTIS can be found in the October issues and websites of Vogue Korea and W Korea.
