Jun Hyun-moo compared Our Ballad to the chemistry on Running Man.
On the 23rd, a press conference for the new variety show Our Ballad was held at the SBS building in Mokdong, Yangcheon District, Seoul. The press conference was attended by PD Jung Ik-seung, along with Jung Jae-hyung, Cha Tae-hyun, Jun Hyun-moo, Danny Koo, Crush, and Jung Seung-hwan, who talked about the show.
Our Ballad is a music audition program that shares life ballads that accompanied every moment in memory and seeks the new voices of today's young people to newly sing the ballads that were your and my songs back then. It plans to find gems among participants averaging 18.2 years old, including a 150-person group and the Topbaekgui representative team composed of a wide spectrum including Jung Jae-hyung, Cha Tae-hyun, Choo Sung Hoon, Jun Hyun-moo, Park Kyung-lim, Danny Koo, Crush, Jung Seung-hwan, and Oh My Girl's Mimi.
Jun Hyun-moo compared the cast chemistry on Our Ballad to SBS's longest-running variety show Running Man. In response, Cha Tae-hyun said, "Hyun-moo has a basis.." and explained, "I go on Running Man often, and Seokjin hyung receives well there too. He doesn't sulk, and here Jae-hyung hyung doesn't sulk and receives well either."
Jun Hyun-moo confessed, "Seokjin hyung doesn't sulk, this hyung sulks. It lasts about 20 minutes. He's alone pff~ like that," and Cha Tae-hyun said, "Still, when hyung sulks he doesn't show it on his face, so I think the chemistry is good."
Jun Hyun-moo said, "There is also the confrontation between me and Jung Jae-hyung, but it's the line between musicians and non-musicians. Originally judges have weighted votes, but for us one vote equals one point. Cha Tae-hyun's and Jun Hyun-moo's opinions and Jung Jae-hyung's are the same one vote. There's no favoritism. Strictly speaking, this hyung isn't even Topbaekgui. This hyung only listens to his own music," he lamented.
Hearing this, Jung Jae-hyung took the mic and said, "It's actually true. If I like it, it can't get into the top," admitting it. Jun Hyun-moo summed it up as "musicality and popularity."
Crush also explained the judging criteria, saying, "Each person has their own standards so opinions could differ, but I think that played out pleasantly and entertainingly. Some stages had touching moments, and combined with various backstories I thought there was a lot of sincerity. I also think scheduling a 2-hour 40-minute runtime feels like wanting to include as much as possible within one broadcast."
Meanwhile, SBS's Our Ballad premieres at 9 p.m. on the 23rd.
