Comedian Shin Ki-ru delivered a cheat-code level performance on the variety show "Bae-Bulli Hills."
On the sixth episode of Disney+'s new high-calorie variety show "Bae-Bulli Hills," released on the 21st, Shin Ki-ru continued the "Heat hunt water park" game to acquire barbecue ingredients. In the mission where five people had to get over a hill on the water within a three-minute time limit, he played the role of guide without sparing his body, getting soaked while helping his teammates' challenge. The first attempt unfortunately failed, but on the second try he and the members who got the hang of it succeeded, obtaining ingredients including pork mahogany and pig skin.
After the intense water play, they were greeted by rows of various cup noodles. Under the condition that each person could choose only one, Shin Ki-ru picked up a small cup of yukgaejang after deep thought. Saying "this is true love," he showed his affection for his favorite ramen by moving his chopsticks just three seconds after adding water.
An episode that turned the set into a sea of laughter followed. It drew roars when a borrowed sock only covered half his foot. He surprised the members with the candid confession "fat accumulates on the scalp too," and, looking at actor Lee Gyu-ho's nape, quipped, "this is almost a double patty, isn't it?" showcasing his witty banter. Shin Ki-ru's weight is known to be 108kg.
Shin Ki-ru also confidently named his buttocks as the body part he is proudest of. When Seo Jang-hoon asked whether he had cosmetic surgery, Shin Ki-ru playfully replied, "What, you think I'm pretty?" bringing laughter, and he revealed a story in which "his own eyes" were mentioned as the standard for surgery, displaying boundless confidence.
Shin Ki-ru said he went for a double-chin procedure but couldn't find his jaw and ended up with a bruise near his vocal cords, which made everyone burst out laughing. When Seo Jang-hoon asked whether he had used Wegovy, he shared the anecdote that even appetite suppressants had no effect before an awards ceremony and said firmly, "If I'm not going to seriously lose weight, I won't touch my body," drawing laughter from the set.
Shin Ki-ru's willingness to make a fool of himself and his trademark blunt wit have become core attractions of "Bae-Bulli Hills," raising expectations for what new antics he will show in upcoming episodes.
Meanwhile, Shin Ki-ru's comic talent can be seen on "Bae-Bulli Hills," which is released every Sunday at 8 a.m. on Disney+.
