Singer and actress Nam Gyu-ri said she lives in the mountains.
Nam Gyu-ri showed off her 'pictorial goddess' side after a long time in AtStyle's October issue. In this pictorial she freely handled concepts that swung between innocent and intense, revealing a Barbie doll visual.
In the interview that followed the shoot, she candidly confessed about the hiatus in her career as a singer and her thirst for music. "Actually, when I left SeeYa, I thought I would never be able to do music again," she said. "I was active briefly and intensely, but even if I wanted to sing again, I wasn't even given the chance. The thirst for music always remained in a corner of my heart," she confessed. The new song "Heartache," released after a long wait of 14 years, is the condensed result of Nam Gyu-ri's past time and sincerity.
Ahead of SeeYa's 20th anniversary, she answered questions about a reunion honestly. She laughed and said, "Did you notice I'm publicly flirting?" then added, "When I see other groups reuniting, I feel jealous, and above all I really want to take the stage at least once for the fans."
She reflected on the past, stained by misunderstandings and wounds. She said, "They say ignorance is boldness; I think I was able to endure because I didn't know. I don't want to go back to those days," and added, "If I hadn't had that innocence, I wouldn't be who I am now."
She also revealed a modest daily life different from the glamorous stage. She introduced her simple way of life, saying, "High-rise apartments didn't suit me. Now I live in the mountains, I can clearly see the four seasons, and I feel grateful just from taking walks."
Although she is known for a mysterious image, among fans she is regarded as a "communication queen" and someone who knows fans well. Nam Gyu-ri smiled and said, "Many people see me as having a mysterious image, but I'm not like that at all," and added, "Fans tell me I'm doing whatever I want these days, and I really am."
