A 30-year close friend of Kim Jong-kook, Cha Tae-hyun, appeared on Running Man and brought laughs with rumors that haven't ended.
On the Nov. 21 broadcast of SBS variety show Running Man, Cha Tae-hyun shone as "Cha-eonbi-eo."
As soon as Kim Jong-kook showed up that day everyone said, "The groom has arrived," and "Bring out Jong-kook's bridal palanquin," which made Kim Jong-kook groan, "Stop it, don't do that." But the members who wanted to tease him freely after the wedding also brought laughter.
The producers introduced him saying, "There will probably be a lot to talk about regarding recent news, so we invited a special guest at this timing," and it was Kim Jong-kook's close friend Cha Tae-hyun who turns things inside out. In fact, he was the one who spread the LA wedding rumor about Kim Jong-kook all over the neighborhood. He had spread the rumor that he had children in the United States, a son and a daughter. Yoo Jae-suk also said, "Jong-kook is overwhelmed by Cha Tae-hyun," and Kim Jong-kook made everyone laugh by saying, "He can't tell what to say and what not to say."
Cha Tae-hyun also asked, "But Jong-kook's mother, haha. When she meets Se-chan does she smile brightly?" adding, "I kept congratulating her so she responded awkwardly, 'Yes. Well,'" which made everyone burst out laughing. Cha Tae-hyun said, "I wondered if she didn't recognize me, so I took off my glasses and went three times," and "Because I spread the rumor, I thought she might be sulking at me," which brought laughter.
The members continued, "So today is a game to guess the sister-in-law's job?" repeatedly mentioning Kim Jong-kook's wife, who is shrouded in mystery. Cha Tae-hyun said, "Let's create it from now on," and joked, "If (Kim Jong-kook) doesn't tell (about the rumor), let's make it up," adding, "Let's fake her age and what she does," which caused another burst of laughter.
At one point Cha Tae-hyun began another rumor, saying, "I have a reasonable suspicion—is the whole (marriage) a play?" Yoo Jae-suk said, "If you look into it, you can know everything about their house," and Cha Tae-hyun made people laugh again by saying, "For a play they spent a lot of money. Anyway, congratulations on the marriage."
