CORTIS accelerated its momentum on the music charts after its album success.
The debut album intro track "GO!" by CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Gunho) entered Melon's daily chart at No. 95 on the 21st. This is the first time a song by a boy group that debuted this year has appeared on that chart. The song rose to No. 78 on the real-time "Top 100" chart at 9 a.m. on the 22nd, marking its highest position to date. It gained further momentum after CORTIS performed "GO!" again on SBS' Inkigayo, which aired on the 21st.
"GO!" held the No. 1 spot for four consecutive days (Sept. 16–19) on Spotify's "Daily Viral Songs Global," the world's largest music streaming platform. It was especially encouraging that it reached No. 1 in Korea and Japan and peaked at No. 2 in the U.S. This chart reflects not only streaming numbers but also a song's surge in recent plays, how often it is shared, and its buzz among listeners. "GO!" entering the "Viral Songs" chart is evidence that the song is spreading by word of mouth worldwide. In addition, the title track "What You Want" reached No. 1 on the "Daily Viral Songs Global" (Sept. 1–7) and has remained in the upper ranks of various countries' and regions' "Viral Songs" charts for an extended period, driving multi-faceted success.
CORTIS reached 4,758,068 monthly listeners on Spotify (Sept. 20). This number is based on data compiling listeners over the past 28 days. It is the highest among rookies who debuted this year and is remarkable even compared with established boy groups. Moreover, the group's monthly listeners increased more than tenfold compared with the day their debut album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" was released (Sept. 8, about 450,000). This suggests a large influx of new listeners centered on their music show activities.
Meanwhile, CORTIS is a "young creator crew" under BigHit Music, a label of HYBE (Chairman Bang Si-hyuk), jointly creating music, choreography and videos. Their debut album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" recorded first-week sales of 436,367 copies on Hanteo Chart (weekly sales from the release date). That is No. 1 among rookies who debuted this year and ranks fourth in first-week sales for debut albums by K-pop groups.
