On the 21st episode of the tvN weekend drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min) was shown proposing to Yeon Ji-young (played by Im Yoon-ah).
That day Yeon Ji-young, who was framed on suspicion of murdering Prince Jinmyeong after falling into Kang Mok-joo's (played by Kang Han-na) trap, was subjected to a harsh interrogation by Queen Dowager Jaheon (played by Shin Eun-jung) and imprisoned. When Lee Heon learned of this belatedly, he became enraged at Queen Dowager Jaheon for suspecting even him, saying, "Are you saying I ordered this?" and pointed a sword.
At that moment, the collapsed Yeon Ji-young regained consciousness and pleaded with the rampaging Lee Heon, "Your Majesty, calm down. You must not do this. Put the sword down. This is in no way for my sake," and added, "You know better than anyone that I would never do such a thing. Please prove my innocence."
Continuing, Yeon Ji-young said, "I know what will happen here. I know the future. If you draw the sword now, the situation will spiral out of control," and urged, "Nothing has happened yet. Put the sword down. And whatever happens from now on you must endure it. Hold firm. Please go, now."
Lee Heon retorted, "If I leave like this, you will die." Yeon Ji-young replied, "If you act like this, everyone will die. Shall I hang myself as proof? Would that make you believe me?" and Lee Heon reluctantly lowered his sword. Yeon Ji-young asked him to "remember my words," and Lee Heon said, "All right. I will not yield."
Meanwhile, Grand Queen Dowager Inju (played by Seo Yi-sook) offered Yeon Ji-young a chance to prove her innocence herself within three days instead of releasing her outright. Once freed, Yeon Ji-young immediately prepared Lee Heon's midday meal, and while investigating the case on her own, Lee Heon was startled by hearing Yeon Ji-young's voice.
Lee Heon immediately pulled Yeon Ji-young into an embrace, and Yeon Ji-young recalled the sinister rumors circulating in the palace linking her and Lee Heon, so she pulled away from his touch.
Yeon Ji-young drew a line, saying, "Your Majesty, because you embrace and kiss a woman you do not even like, needless misunderstandings arise and grim rumors spread through the palace. Do you understand?" Lee Heon pulled her in again, cut her off and kissed her. When the flustered Yeon Ji-young asked, "What are you doing now?" Lee Heon confessed, "This is a kiss for the woman I love most."
With Lee Heon's help, Yeon Ji-young was able to clear her name. At the same time, the two learned that Kang Mok-joo was behind the plot. An enraged Lee Heon confronted Kang Mok-joo, who feigned ignorance, saying, "I don't know anything." In the end Lee Heon ground his teeth and said, "Do you truly wish to die? You have committed a grave crime. Even if you beg for your life it won't be enough. Fine. Bring me your evidence."
After the case was resolved, Lee Heon told Yeon Ji-young, "Has your desire to find the Mangwoonrok and return changed?" and revealed his feelings, "I would prefer that you not go back, wherever that place may be."
Yeon Ji-young asked, "Do you really believe that I came from the future?" Lee Heon answered, "I sensed that you are not a person of this era." Yeon Ji-young urged, "Even though you knew, you treated me so harshly? Please find the Mangwoonrok. Quickly."
Yeon Ji-young also asked, "Surely you haven't been looking for it until now?" Lee Heon replied, "I will find it soon. But I didn't want to find it," and proposed, saying, "Be my partner," as he placed a ring on her finger.
