On the 21st episode of SBS variety show My Ugly Duckling, Lee Dong-gun was shown visiting a hospital.
He complained of abnormal eyes, saying, "The symptoms appear about five times a month." In the broadcast, Lee Dong-gun's eyes were bloodshot and turned bright red, startling viewers.
Continuing his consultation with a specialist, Lee Dong-gun complained of severe pain, saying, "It hurts as if being pierced by an awl even when I just breathe." After completing the diagnosis, the specialist said, "A rare disease that affects only 1% of our population," shocking the studio.
