Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin portrayed a married couple.
On the 22nd at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, the film No Other Choice held a premiere and press conference. Director Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min and Yeom Hye-ran attended the event.
No Other Choice (provided/distributed by: CJ ENM | director: Park Chan-wook | production: Moho Film/CJ ENM Studios) tells the story of office worker Mansu (Lee Byung-hun), whose life had felt so complete that he felt he had "achieved everything," who is abruptly fired and prepares his own war for reemployment to protect his wife and two children and to keep the hard-earned home.
In the film, Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin play a married couple, and Lee Byung-hun said of their chemistry, "Our rhythm, amazingly, matched perfectly. Of course, because I was familiar and friendly with Ms. Son Ye-jin and had seen her over time, there was no sense of distance. Another thing was realizing, once again, that it was Son Ye-jin. Experiencing that chemistry for the first time, I was surprised many times. I was amazed that she never missed any of the emotions she was going to find."
Son Ye-jin also praised, "Real-life couples can only act if it feels natural. What surprised me most working with the senior actor for the first time was how relaxed he was in front of the camera without exerting any force. How can someone act like that?"
She continued, "So as a joke, we played golf a few times, and he was really tensing up then. I thought, 'He might go home and be in pain.' We even joked that maybe his acting was more relaxed because of that. I worked with an outstanding actor," she said, drawing laughter.
