On KBS 2TV's 'Secrets of celebrity patients,' actress Moon Jeong-hee reveals the secret to her "age-defying beauty." The show also probes the rejuvenation secrets that Empress Dowager Cixi, known as one of "China's three great villains," enjoyed at the height of her power.
On Tuesday, the 23rd, KBS 2TV's 'Secrets of celebrity patients' will feature actor Moon Jeong-hee alongside Cho Young-heon, a professor of history education at Korea University.
With a soft, rich voice, Moon Jeong-hee vividly recounted the story of how, when Empress Dowager Cixi's tomb from the late Qing dynasty was looted, a shining bead called a "yamyeongju" came out of her mouth. Moon Jeong-hee then said, "I really like this program. I couldn't look away. I didn't know I would be on it," showing her excitement. Lee Chan-won said, "I came to work with an excited heart. I'm a real fan," expressing his admiration for Moon Jeong-hee and creating a warm atmosphere.
Before delving into Empress Dowager Cixi, who was obsessed with youth and beauty until just before her death, the conversation turned to Moon Jeong-hee's own "age-defying beauty." Lee Chan-won joked, "I almost called you 'Jeong-hee' on first meeting," and Dr. MC Lee Nak-jun exclaimed in surprise, "Are you older than me?" Faced with a flood of compliments, Moon Jeong-hee modestly said, "This program is a bit...," but nodded as she added, "I can't say I'm young... but I want to live youthfully."
Moon Jeong-hee cited "sleep management" as the secret to her youthful looks. Jang Do-youn said, "This is something Mr. Lee Nak-jun always talks about," expressing surprise. Moon Jeong-hee continued, "If you search Empress Dowager Cixi, you find information on health, skin, and diet management. What did Cixi do to maintain immortal beauty? We'll be able to tell that story too," piquing curiosity.
The Empress Dowager Cixi episode of 'Secrets of celebrity patients,' Korea's first medical storytelling variety show that investigates the private lives, illnesses, aging and deaths of celebrities in history, will air on Tuesday the 23rd at 8:30 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
