'Sikgaek Heo Young-man's table-hopping' Tae Jin-ah's story of being banned from performing "Ok-gyeong-yi" in North Korea was revealed.
On the 21st broadcast of TV Chosun's 'Sikgaek Heo Young-man's table-hopping' (hereafter 'table-hopping'), Tae Jin-ah granted Heo Young-man and left for Seocheon County, Chungcheongnam-do.
That day Heo Young-man asked, "Tae Jin-ah, you've performed abroad a lot, right?" Tae Jin-ah said, "I've been to the U.S. countless times, and I've been to Australia, Canada, and Japan many times. Then North Korea," he said.
In 1999, when Tae Jin-ah visited North Korea for a performance, he recalled, "We met in Beijing, transferred to Air Koryo and went in. But when we climbed the stairs, the stewardess, who saw me for the first time, said, 'Comrade Kojo Tae Jin-ah, please come this way.' She had never seen me before, and my hair stood on end. So I couldn't say a word and sat quietly."
He especially revealed the behind-the-scenes story, saying, "When we arrived at the North Korean airport, that was the reversal. We even did performance rehearsals and everything. On the last day, the day of the performance, they told me, 'Comrade Tae Jin-ah, do not sing "Ok-gyeong-yi."' In North Korea, songs that include names other than the great leader Kim Il-sung and leader Kim Jong-il cannot be sung. They told me not to sing "Ok-gyeong-yi," so I only sang 'Samo-gok.'"
