Actor Kim Young-kwang made a powerful comeback with Walking On Thin Ice.
This year Kim Young-kwang has maintained a more vigorous pace than anyone. After receiving praise for his multi-dimensional character that crossed good and evil in the Netflix series Trigger, he showed another shade of character transformation through Walking On Thin Ice, which unveiled its veil yesterday (20). In addition, the film First Ride, scheduled to be released on Oct. 29, promises uninterrupted activity and is drawing attention.
On the 20th, the first broadcast of the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice depicted the desperate and dangerous partnership chronicle that unfolds when Kang Eun-soo (played by Lee Young-ae), a parent who wants to protect her family, and teacher Lee Kyung (played by Kim Young-kwang), who has two faces, accidentally obtain a bag of drugs. In the drama, Kim Young-kwang took center stage as Lee Kyung, who works as an art instructor by day and lives as a drug dealer and club MD at night.
Lee Kyung is an after-school art instructor at Saero Girls' Middle School who earned students' favor through his pleasant appearance. Noticing among many students that Sua (played by Kim Si-a) missed classes and was contemplating dropping out, he showed a delicate side by cautiously informing parent Eun-soo. Lee Kyung was the epitome of "proper living," but at night he revealed a 180-degree different appearance, causing shock.
The other face of Lee Kyung, transformed by flashy styling, was James, the drug dealer at the famous Gangnam club Medusa. Eun-soo, who learned of his double life, proposed a dangerous partnership, and Lee Kyung's stunned and embarrassed appearance foreshadowed the beginning of a new story.
Kim Young-kwang completely opened the door to Walking On Thin Ice by newly transforming into Lee Kyung, a man with two faces. He deftly moved from the image of a perfect son-in-law to a 180-degree different underside, fully portraying Lee Kyung's surprising charm. Kim Young-kwang's characteristic natural control of tempo also supported the tense double life, increasing curiosity about the hidden story.
Meanwhile, Walking On Thin Ice, in which Kim Young-kwang appears, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
