On the 20th broadcast of tvN weekend drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, a scene showing Yeon Ji-young (Im Yoon-ah) winning the contest against Ming was portrayed.
The third contest began. Ming prepared a bultojang, and Joseon prepared ogolgae samgyetang. As Yeon Ji-young anxiously waited for Jang Chun-saeng (Go Chang-seok)'s pressure cooker, Jang Chun-saeng appeared. Finally using the pressure cooker, Yeon Ji-young began cooking. At the loud sound of the pressure cooker, Woo-gon (Kim Hyung-mook) worried about an explosion and Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min) said, "Don't worry. Colonel Sooksoo will take care of it."
The dishes from both countries were finished, and upon seeing the ogolgae samgyetang made with mountain ginseng that Yeon Ji-young presented, Woo-gon attacked, saying it seemed beneath them. But after tasting it, Woo-gon faced the phoenix and marveled at the perfect flavor. Lee Heon also could not hide his smile and commented, "Truly delicious." Next came the tasting of Ming's dish. Lee Heon said, "This bultojang could rightly be called the soup of immortals," feeling the energy of the universe.
Lee Heon announced that in the third contest each country's three representative chief cooks would taste and evaluate the other's food. Yeon Ji-young noticed that one of Ming's cooks could not eat and inferred that they appeared to have anorexia. Woo-gon had deliberately put forward a cook who couldn't eat to avoid giving points.
Yeon Ji-young thought the cook might be able to eat if it wasn't a finished dish, so she mixed her dishes to make one bowl. She had to feed them somehow to earn points. Presenting the food to the Ming cook, Yeon Ji-young explained, "When you eat, the eater is happy, and isn't that the joy of cooking? I threw everything in and it's delicious when eaten. I put a wish for your happiness into this."
The Ming cook who ate the food said, "I ate my grandmother's jumtang and was shocked by that tremendous flavor. I had reached the realm of creating the best flavor without checking seasoning, but I could not eat the food. Yet you produced that taste. How can I, someone who cannot even surpass my grandmother's touch, call myself the greatest chef? I lost to you today," and choked up.
Afterward, the contest scores were revealed. Joseon won by one point. Yeon Ji-young said she was pleased, "Thank you for giving a good score."
