CORTIS presented a unique music video that runs backward in time.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) released the music video for "JoyRide," a track from their debut album, at 12 a.m. on the HYBE (chairman Bang Si-hyuk) Labels YouTube channel on the 21st. It was produced inspired by self-made videos the members planned, filmed and edited themselves during their trainee days. The original ideas of teenagers were newly reborn in New Zealand under the direction of director Bang Jae-yeop.
Every scene in the music video is played in reverse, and the storytelling method is also unique. Scenes that unfold randomly rather than following the flow of time make it impossible to predict what ending they are heading toward. The only clue that hints at the sequence of events is the manual that appears each time the screen changes. Sequences unfold like a movie, such as running to avoid a meteor falling from the sky or getting in a car and setting off for an unknown destination. The distinctive direction using reverse playback, New Zealand's beautiful scenery and the cool yet poignant music combine to captivate viewers.
