Actress Nam Bo-ra voiced the hardships of being the eldest of 13 siblings.
On the 20th episode of the MBN variety show "Sokpuli Show Dongchimi," they discussed the topic "Do you know the life of a K-eldest?"
Meanwhile, Nam Bo-ra, known as the eldest of 13 siblings, opened up her story, saying "I was a beneficiary. Until 10 more siblings were born!"
She began, "My brother and I really received a lot of benefits. We attended private schools (our mother) was very active in skirts. She participated in all parent meetings and every event. If we asked for tutoring, she provided it, we attended all the academies and learned Chinese characters. But then..."
When asked, "When did it start to get this hard?" Nam Bo-ra answered, "It was in fourth grade of elementary school. At that time we transferred schools and then tightened the belt."
Kim Yong-man asked, "When you were in fourth grade of elementary school, which sibling was born?" Nam Bo-ra counted the numbers briefly and said, "In my memory, I think it was the seventh." She said that the household began to struggle after the seventh was born.
Hearing this, No Sa-yeon asked, "Did you ever ask your mother and father, 'Could you stop having babies?'" Nam Bo-ra recalled, "I did. There was such a time. I said I don't want to watch siblings anymore. I said that when the 11th was born. My mother didn't answer, and then the 12th sibling arrived."
She continued, "Then the whole family really treated that child as the youngest and raised everything as top quality. A baby crib and stroller we had never seen, really expensive ones. Because it was the last. But the 13th child used those things again. The 13th child was born when I was 20. I welcomed a sibling as I entered university."
In particular, Nam Bo-ra said, "I was worried so I took my mother to the hospital. I asked, 'Are you okay?' but her whole body was swollen and she wasn't doing well. But she said, 'I was so annoyed I thought I was going to die.' When I asked, 'Why while giving birth?' she said, 'The head nurse here is so bad. I was so annoyed I did everything myself.' My mother had given birth many times at that hospital. She had given birth there from the 10th time, but this head nurse was new to the hospital and perhaps didn't know well. Even while my mother was in labor she said, 'That's not it. Not now. It's now.' She was directing the delivery," sharing the episode and drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Nam Bo-ra debuted as an actress after appearing as the eldest among eight sons and five daughters on MBC "Sunday Sunday Night - Choir of Angels" and KBS "Human Theater," drawing attention. She then married a businessman of the same age in May this year.
