Testimonies poured in on 'Running Man' that Kim Jong-kook's wedding was "over the top."
On the episode of SBS variety show 'Running Man' aired on the 21st, they shared after-stories of Kim Jong-kook's wedding.
The production team introduced the segment as "holding back but the congratulatory delegation," noting that Kim Jong-kook usually dislikes birthday celebrations, and said, "Because it's still a special day, the production prepared a wedding celebration party by putting on every bit of fuss we could muster," and added "a mission to exclude the cringey parts of the celebration party."
Kim Jong-kook said, "Stop it, really," but everyone said in unison, "If he hates this and we don't do it, it would be too disappointing," and "Let's work together until the ending."
Kim Jong-kook continued, "Anyway, I was very grateful. It was nice to have close people there," and Yoo Jae-suk said, "But how was the wedding simple? It lasted an hour and a half," and asked, "Was there a second part? What was understated?" The main ceremony alone was said to have lasted an hour.
Kim Jong-kook smiled and said, "I should have said I spent too much money, it was leisurely and nice." Everyone burst into laughter, saying, "They really made a fuss."
Continuing the after-stories, everyone joked, "If that's the case, why don't we sit and talk," bringing laughter. Kim Jong-kook joked, "Some people didn't even get to read the marriage proclamation..," and Ji Seok-jin kept expressing surprise, saying, "I can't believe the day came when you talk about marriage."
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook married a non-celebrity woman on Sep. 5. On a previous broadcast, when curiosity was expressed about Kim Jong-kook with comments like "Did he film furniture on My Little Old Boy?" Kim Jong-kook declared, "I don't film it."
