'Home Alone' revealed that SHINee's Key comes from a family of patriots.
On the 19th broadcast of MBC variety show 'Home Alone', it was revealed that Key comes from a patriotic family.
That day, SHINee's Key disclosed that his paternal grandfather, his uncle (father's younger brother), and his maternal grandfather were all national meritorious persons. Arriving at the National Yeongcheon Patriotic Cemetery, Key said, "My paternal grandfather fought in the 6·25 War," and added, "September is meaningful to me, so I came after a long time to see my paternal grandfather and grandmother."
Perhaps because of that, he moved quietly with a reverent demeanor. The fact that he didn't play any music drew attention.
Following his paternal grandfather, Key said his uncle who fought in the 6·25 War and his maternal grandfather who fought in the Vietnam War are also at the patriotic cemetery, which surprised everyone. Key said, "My grandfather was shot in the war and suffered an ankle injury. He was recognized by the state for his service and, after he passed away in 2005, he was enshrined at the patriotic cemetery."
Guseonghwan, a star of Sipjaseong Village, told Key, "You must be proud," expressing sympathy.
Kian84 also said, "They are a patriotic family." When Key revealed he served in the military at the Ministry of National Defense's military band brigade and completed his service at the National Cemetery, Jun Hyun-moo exclaimed, "What a patriotic idol!" Kian84 shouted, "We'll pin a gold badge on you!" and called, "Thanks, Gibum!" which drew laughter.
Watching Key continue to visit his paternal grandparents' graves, Jun Hyun-moo said, "We live forgetting. We live like this thanks to those people," expressing gratitude and respect.
Next, SHINee's Key headed to his family home. Footage showed SHINee's Key enjoying a birthday date with his mother. Key said, "I don't really remember the last time I spent my birthday with my mother," and, to celebrate his upcoming birthday, he promised to go on a date with his mother in Daegu Dongsung-ro, a place full of memories.
Wearing matching striped T-shirts and black bottoms like a planned set, the pair caught the eye. He shared memories of his school days with his mother. They sat across from each other at a nostalgic restaurant, and added to their memories with four-shot photo booth pictures that are essential to dating.
