"Jun Hyun-moo plan 2" Jun Hyun-moo-GwakTube brought happiness to living rooms through a food-trip odyssey in search of the "taste of memories" alongside actors Yujin and Ji Hyun-woo.
On the 47th episode of the full-fledged real street food documentary "Jun Hyun-moo plan 2" (co-produced by MBN and Channel S), which aired on the 19th, Jun Hyun-moo and GwakTube (Gwak Jun-bin) set out on their "61st street" "taste of memories" food trip with their "food friends" Yujin and Ji Hyun-woo. They revisited the Lee Young-ja recommended dumpling shop, enjoyed a burger and iced coffee spot with 35 years of tradition, the "Yujin plan" army stew restaurant, and a beef restaurant serving "mu-bap," delivering fresh information and healing to viewers at home.
Early that morning in Deungchon-dong, Seoul, Jun Hyun-moo said he was heading to the Lee Young-ja "pick" dumpling shop that they had been unable to eat at during season 1 because it was a place you can't eat at without lining up early. Surprised by the long line stretching out that morning, Jun Hyun-moo and GwakTube managed to get kimchi dumplings to go and filmed a mukbang in a nearby park. Tasting them, Jun Hyun-moo said, "They said Young-ja nuna eats a whole napa cabbage of kimchi, and it's true," and GwakTube praised them as "truly top tier!" giving a thumbs up.
Next, the two headed to a spot selling burgers for just 3,000 won and iced coffee for 1,500 won. There they embraced burgers scented with margarine while fully feeling the 1990s atmosphere, saying, "Some people might be moved to tears by memories," and went into a nostalgic craze. While the memory mukbang was in full swing, Jun Hyun-moo asked GwakTube, who recently announced his marriage, the key question, "Did you originally meet with marriage in mind?" GwakTube replied, "Honestly, the moment I saw my fiancée I thought, 'I will marry her,'" and Jun Hyun-moo said, "So there are people like that," expressing envy. The burger shop owner remarked, "I thought you'd given up on marriage..." and Jun Hyun-moo, feigning hurt, said, "I never said I gave up... since you called me out, I'll try," which drew laughter.
Immediately after, the two met Yujin and Ji Hyun-woo in Apgujeong-dong. At that time, Yujin switched to "Yujin plan" mode and led everyone to her nostalgic army stew restaurant. Thanks to regular customer Yujin, the four were seated quickly, and Yujin introduced the place, saying, "This is the first place I visited with S.E.S members after debuting in 1997." Shortly after, the army stew was served, and after tasting it, Jun Hyun-moo said, "This is a different genre~" and was fully immersed in the mukbang. He asked, "Did you eat this kind of (high-calorie) food during S.E.S activities?" Yujin recalled, "We danced all the time then, so we were constantly losing weight and kept making our pants smaller. We even ate at dawn sometimes," saying she unintentionally dieted, surprising everyone. The four who "all-killed" the nostalgic sausage and steak at the "Yujin plan" restaurant moved on to the next spot, the "mu-bap" specialty restaurant.
In the car, Jun Hyun-moo asked, "Was there a turning point that made you switch from singer to actor?" Ji Hyun-woo recounted, "I started as a guitarist session for Moon Child. There was a time I earned 100,000 won a year. Later I first acted in a bit part and was happy receiving 50,000 won per day. In the next project I played the lead, and in 2003 I passed KBS open recruitment," listing his debut history. He added, "In 2004 I did the singer activities with The Nuts and appeared in 'Old Miss Diary' at the same time." Yujin candidly shared, "In our era we weren't doing side jobs. During S.E.S activities I received acting offers but turned them down because it felt like betraying the group. After wrapping up S.E.S activities in 2002, I did my first acting project."
As deeper conversations continued, the four arrived at a restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong and happily exploded into joy as they grilled Hanwoo outside skirt steak and flank cap (toshisal), labeled "directly shipped from Jeolla farms." At that moment, Jun Hyun-moo eyed Ji Hyun-woo suspiciously and opened with, "There are aspects similar to Lee Se-hee, your co-star in 'The Gentleman and the Young Lady'..." He added, "Lee Se-hee writes nice things on the air conditioner; I thought it was unusual, but Ji Hyun-woo also writes a lot around his house." Yujin immediately teased, "Are you dating?" which made everyone laugh, and Jun Hyun-moo put on a 'cold eye,' asking, "Who influenced whom?" Ji Hyun-woo burst out laughing, saying, "I was surprised to see that same side of her on TV too."
Taking it further, Jun Hyun-moo bluntly asked, "Do you have any thoughts about marriage?" and Ji Hyun-woo replied, "I don't have the energy." Jun Hyun-moo diagnosed, "If your standards were high, you'd have the will, but saying 'I like things as they are' is more dangerous." Ji Hyun-woo said, "I don't feel that danger," adding, "I'm not dissatisfied with my current life," and Jun Hyun-moo agreed 100% with being satisfied with the current life, saying, "I want to get married but I'm not making the effort." At that moment, the owner brought seaweed with the "mu-bap" and grilled it on the pan, handing it over. Jun Hyun-moo admired it, saying, "This is 'imo-kase' (auntie's course)," and while wrapping mu-bap in seaweed he said, "It makes me think of my mother," recalling memories. After the warm mukbang, Yujin and Ji Hyun-woo neatly explained their joint appearance in MBN's new Wednesday-Thursday miniseries "First Lady" and concluded the "taste of memories" food trip with the "food bros."
