Amid rumors of a romance between Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon, both sides quickly denied them, saying "not true."
On the afternoon of the 20th, a representative of Kim Do-hoon's agency, Peak J Entertainment, told OSEN "The romance rumors between Kim Do-hoon and Kim Yoo-jung are not true," and gave the official position that "(the Nha Trang, Vietnam trip) was a group trip with the directors and the recently grants drama team, and it was not just the two of them."
A representative of Kim Yoo-jung's agency, Awesome ENT, also told OSEN "After checking with Kim Yoo-jung, the romance rumors with Kim Do-hoon are not true," and issued an official statement saying "the Nha Trang, Vietnam trip was not a trip for just the two of them but a group trip taken together after filming Dear X finished."
They continued, "After all drama filming finished, director Lee Eung-bok, Kim Yoo-jung, actor Kim Do-hoon, and staff who were available all went on a group trip, but photos made it look like only the two went," and reiterated, "The romance rumors are groundless."
Recently a netizen's sighting from May spread quickly on online communities and social media. The netizen said they saw Kim Do-hoon on a plane heading to Nha Trang, Vietnam, and released a verification photo. They said the woman next to Kim Do-hoon at the time was actress Kim Yoo-jung, and there were also sightings of the two together at the airport. As a result, posts appeared alleging that Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon might have traveled together to Nha Trang and others suspected each of their posts as lovestagram evidence.
But it turned out that the Dear X drama team went on a group trip and lead actors Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon had joined. In the process, seeing the two together sparked unexpected romance rumors, and after both sides quickly denied them, it ended as a minor incident.
Meanwhile, the new TVING series Dear X tells the story of Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), a woman who puts on a mask to climb from hell to the highest place, and the Xs who were cruelly trampled by her. Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, it depicts the downfall of Korea's top actress Baek Ah-jin, who hides a cruel true nature behind a beautiful face, and the desperate love of Yoon Joon-seo (played by Kim Young-dae), who chose hell to protect her, announcing the birth of a melodramatic suspense of destruction. Kim Yoo-jung plays the masked woman Baek Ah-jin in the drama, and Kim Do-hoon co-starred as Baek Ah-jin's aide Kim Jae-o.
Recently the two visited Haeundae, Busan, after Dear X was officially invited to the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) On Screen section, and they attended the festival and met many viewers.
