Song I-dam is making a name for herself thanks to tvN's weekend drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty (directed by Jang Tae-yu, written by fGRD, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Film Grida, Jeong Universe).
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is a survival fantasy romantic comedy drama about a chef who time-slips to the past at the height of his career and meets the worst tyrant, a king with absolute taste.
Song I-dam is cast as an interpreter dispatched from the Ming dynasty and appears from episode 7. She is the character responsible for communication in the cooking contest between the royal kitchen cooks and the Ming cooks. In episode 8 she skillfully interpreted the conversation between royal head cook Yeon Ji-young (played by Im Yoon-ah), who checked the red pepper powder, and Ming head cook Dang Baek-ryong (played by Jo Jae-yoon), heightening the drama's tension.
On the 18th Song I-dam posted a photo with Im Yoon-ah on her social media and wrote, "I appear as the Ming royal cook interpreter in #BonAppetitYourMajesty, look closely and you'll see me too hehe." As Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is gaining hot popularity, Song I-dam also showed a face full of confidence.
Song I-dam debuted as Han Bin in Channel A's miniseries Marriage You, showing a realistic performance as an MZ generation level-9 civil servant, and built her position by delivering diverse performances in short dramas such as Code Name B: Gukbap Shop Agents, Husband for Sale, 旦那を中古販します!, Love Magic Hongsi BAR, and Fresh Romance.
She also graduated from Zhejiang University, one of China's top universities, and is fluent in Korean, English and Chinese. With native-level Chinese skills and solid acting ability, she perfectly embodies the interpreter character between the Ming cooks and the royal kitchen cooks, adding authenticity and realism to the drama.
Meanwhile, Bon Appetit, Your Majesty airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m. on tvN.
