Hollywood star Milla Jovovich visited Busan.
On the afternoon of the 19th, a stage greeting for the film "Protector" took place on the outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center at the 30th Busan International Film Festival. Director Adrian Grunberg, actor Milla Jovovich, producer Paul W.S. Anderson, producer Park Ho-seong, and screenwriter Moon Bong-seop attended and talked about the film.
"Protector" is an action thriller depicting the breathless and merciless pursuit of Nikki Halstead (Milla Jovovich), a former U.S. special forces operative who must find her daughter Chloe, who was kidnapped by a criminal group, within 72 hours. The film stars Milla Jovovich, a Ukrainian-born Hollywood star known for the "Resident Evil" series.
Shouting "Hello, Busan!" loudly, Milla Jovovich drew cheers and applause from the audience. She added, "I am very honored to be here together like this. I hope you feel many of the emotions of this film with us."
She went on to introduce the role, saying, "In the film I play a former soldier. When her only daughter is kidnapped by abductors and falls into the hands of human traffickers, she fights desperately to save her daughter," raising expectations.
In fact, Milla Jovovich returned to Korea for the first time in eight years since she visited in 2017 to promote "Resident Evil 6." That made domestic fans even more delighted.
"Protector" is scheduled to be released in the second half of this year.
