Singer Woodz (WOODZ, Jo Seung-yeon) fired the opening salvo of his comeback campaign after military discharge by releasing the tracklist and concept photos ahead of his first comeback.
Agency EDAM Entertainment released the tracklist video for the digital single I'll Never Love Again on Woodz's official social media at 10 p.m. on the 18th, and then released the first concept photo at midnight on the 19th.
The digital single I'll Never Love Again will be released at 6 p.m. on Sep. 24 and includes two songs. It consists of Smashing Concrete, which was first revealed through a visualizer video in Jul., and the title track I'll Never Love Again.
The tracklist video closes in on a cluttered desk and typewriter in a dark space, and as objects are broken the tension rises. The words Smashing Concrete appear above the typewriter, capturing attention. A sheet of stationery then appears on screen and a love letter beginning with My dearest is written out. But the letter soon burns, and the falling pieces of paper complete the phrase I'll Never Love Again, leaving a strong impression.
The concept photos complete a stylish mood in a polaroid format and add an unusual charm with a collage direction linking Woodz to Smashing Concrete.
The digital single I'll Never Love Again is his first new release in about two years since Dec. 2023's AMNESIA, and is expected to present an original universe that embraces more mature music, visuals and narrative. In particular, Woodz also participated directly in the lyrics and composition for this digital single, raising expectations about what musical world he will show this time.
Woodz drew attention by unexpectedly releasing a comeback teaser on the 16th. The teasing content created an excited atmosphere that seemed to foreshadow a beautiful love story, but the single name and title track revealed as a twist turned out to be I'll Never Love Again. The unexpected development has further amplified the public's curiosity.
Meanwhile, Woodz's digital single I'll Never Love Again will be released through various online music sites at 6 p.m. on Sep. 24.
