"Gakjip couple" Moon So-ri and Jang Joon-hwan couldn't hide their laughter as they subtly mentioned each other's pasts.
On the 18th, the tvN STORY show "Gakjip couple" featured Moon So-ri and Jang Joon-hwan, who had been invited to a film festival in Da Nang. Moon So-ri said, "We were invited to a film festival. So we headed to Da Nang. Director Jang Joon-hwan was a juror, and I was just a playful guest," and added, "I also met someone abroad for the first time in a long time."
Director Jang Joon-hwan strolled through Da Nang's film street with Moon So-ri. In the peculiar city that felt at once like Busan and like Seoul, they enjoyed a quiet time. Director Jang Joon-hwan showed concern, acting cautiously so Moon So-ri wouldn't get hit by a car.
Moon So-ri defended herself, saying, "Director Jang Joon-hwan is affectionate but not forceful. I'm the one with more force." She recounted, "One day in a parking lot, the parking attendant misunderstood and angrily told us to roll down the window. Jang Joon-hwan got flustered and tried to leave. So I opened the window again and shouted that it was a misunderstanding and that it made me feel bad." She said she is the one who addresses things directly.
Moon So-ri added, "Then my husband looked at me and said, 'Thank you. I feel relieved,'" relaying Jang Joon-hwan's remark and drawing laughter.
Moon So-ri relaxed at the lodging and then changed into a dress for the red carpet. A staff member teased Moon So-ri, saying, "When we always hear you and the director talking on the phone in the car, it sounds so stable that we're really jealous."
Moon So-ri commented on reality, saying, "Marriage is far from stability. Raising a child and such brings a lot of anxiety," adding, "Marriage is really hit or miss. At the time, I think I really didn't know."
Moon So-ri said, "I didn't date long before getting married. It wasn't even a year. We matched well, and I'm really fortunate, but there's no such thing as someone who's perfectly on my side," she said. She admitted, "Before marriage, Jang Joon-hwan was kind to everyone, and that bothered me a bit." Moon So-ri recalled, "Even the wedding date had been set when a call came from Jang Joon-hwan's ex-girlfriend. She was very kind and said, 'Live well and be very happy, see you later.' Looking back, his kind and gentle manner even toward children became a good thing."
While Moon So-ri was staring blankly at the scenery in Da Nang, Jang Joon-hwan asked, "What are you thinking?" and she said a former boyfriend had also asked that same question. She teased Jang Joon-hwan, asking, "Do you keep in touch with your ex-girlfriend?" and adding, "You call your ex-girlfriend's close friend." Jang Joon-hwan laughed and said, "She was a staff member I worked with," and joked, "I heard your ex-boyfriend is also in the film industry."
Moon So-ri explained Jang Joon-hwan's jealousy with a laugh, saying, "A senior I met in college works broadly in the film world, doing talk shows and such. One day while riding with Jang Joon-hwan, we heard that senior's voice on the radio. My husband quietly turned the volume down. He even turned it all the way to zero."
