Former national swimming team member Park Tae-hwan, 36, said he bought an APT. in Jamsil when he was a third-year high school student.
Park appeared in a teaser for KBS's Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant that aired on the 18th, showing him visiting his family home in Jamsil. He said, "I moved here in 2007 when I was a third-year in high school, and this is where I lived with my parents," adding, "When I come to my family home, I think it was a good decision to buy it back then. I provided my parents' home."
He went on to say at the time, "I don't know how many ads I filmed," adding, "There were offers I turned down back then, and I wonder why I refused," showing a hint of regret.
Park Tae-hwan's residence is the Asia Athletes' Village APT., known as the "top APT." in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The complex has 18 buildings and 1,356 households, and all units are medium to large, ranging from 99㎡ (exclusive area, hereafter) to 178㎡. It is near Sports Complex Station, an interchange for subway Lines 2 and 9, and the area is dense with schools and private academies. Used as the athletes' village during the 1986 Seoul Asian Games, this APT. was regarded as one of the "three major APT.s" in the early 1990s along with the Hyundai APT. in Apgujeong-dong and the Sampoong APT. in Seocho-dong.
Recently, it has drawn attention as one of the large-scale redevelopment complexes in the Gangnam area. It is also cited as the biggest beneficiary of the "Jamsil sports and MICE complex development project" led by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
