'K-band scene representative' band LUCY's bassist Cho Won-sang will present a once-in-a-century collaboration with a jazz maestro.
Cho Won-sang will participate as a special guest at the Seoul Forest Jazz Festival 2025, held on the 19th at Seoul Forest in Seoul, and is scheduled to perform a special collaboration with Al Di Meola. The Seoul Forest Jazz Festival is a large-scale urban jazz festival that, since its first event in 2017, has featured top domestic and international jazz artists and musicians from various genres.
Al Di Meola, who will collaborate with Cho Won-sang, is called "a living legend of jazz guitar," and for more than 50 years has been a role model for guitarists worldwide with his precise rhythms, tasteful melodies and original harmonies. In particular, this stage is drawing greater attention as a collaboration between bassist Cho Won-sang, who represents the "K-band scene," and world-renowned guitarist Al Di Meola.
Cho Won-sang has steadily broadened his musical spectrum through various outside collaborations with other artists in addition to his activities with LUCY. In particular, he participated in composing and arranging the title track "Little Light (반딧불)" of NCT Doyoung's first solo album Youth (청춘의 포말 (YOUTH)), was credited as the sole lyricist, and took part in numerous works including Irene and PROJECT 7, proving his wide-ranging capabilities as a producer and bassist. At the same time, with bass lines that stand out in songs such as "Moonlight," "Dopamine" and "Discord," he has showcased precise rhythm, fast fingering and rich groove, recording explosive views on YouTube and social media and quickly capturing the public's attention.
Having built his own musical world by collaborating with numerous artists across diverse genres beyond K-pop, Cho Won-sang is expected to once again make a strong impression by sharing the stage with world-renowned jazz maestro Al Di Meola at the Seoul Forest Jazz Festival, reinforcing his presence through a legendary artist collaboration.
About this collaboration, Cho Won-sang said, "I am honored to share a stage with world-renowned guitarist Al Di Meola. Through this performance, I want to show a new challenge and exchange as a bassist."
Meanwhile, LUCY, which includes Cho Won-sang, is leading the K-band scene by consecutively capturing major domestic festivals with the free-spirited charm of a "youth band" on stage. In August, they performed as consecutive headliners at 7 ROCK PRIME 2025 and JUMF 2025 Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival, and have become the "top-requested band" receiving numerous college festival invitations.
