The group ZEROBASEONE (ZEROBASEONE) will release a special Japanese EP, launching another push into the Japanese market.
ZEROBASEONE (Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Zhang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Riki, Kim Gyubin, Park Geonwook, Han Yujin) will release the physical album of the Japanese special EP "ICONIK" at 0 a.m. on Oct. 29. This album includes "ICONIK" as well as "SLAM DUNK" and the title track "BLUE" from the previous mini album 5 "BLUE PARADISE," with all three songs included in Japanese versions.
"ICONIK" shares its name with the title track of ZEROBASEONE's domestic full-length album "NEVER SAY NEVER." Through "ICONIK," ZEROBASEONE once again firmly imprints the group's identity. It is the brightest highlight in ZEROBASEONE's musical journey, carrying a bold message that "regardless of others' judgments, we can become iconic ourselves."
In particular, the physical album for "ICONIK" is composed of one standard edition and nine solo editions. Each album will include a 12-page lyric booklet and limited first-press photocard giveaways at random. Highlighting the unique features of each version, the standard edition will include a special message card, and the solo editions will contain a square card and a secret sticker set, adding to expectations.
ZEROBASEONE achieved "half-million seller" status within a week of their local debut in Japan with their first single, "Yurayura -Unmei no Hana- (ゆらゆら -運命の花-)", in March last year, recording the highest figure among debut albums by overseas artists at the time. Also, their first EP "PREZENT" topped both the Oricon weekly album ranking and the weekly combined album ranking, and placed fourth on Billboard Japan's "Top Album Sales," enjoying explosive popularity in Japan. Fueled by fans' enthusiastic response, ZEROBASEONE was also selected as the Asia winner of the "Best New Artist" category announced by the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards.
Moreover, "NEVER SAY NEVER" proved already popular before its physical release in Japan, reaching No. 2 on the Oricon charts for the week of Sept. 1-7 in both the weekly album ranking and the weekly combined album ranking dated Sept. 15. It also placed seventh on Billboard Japan's "Hot Albums" and ninth on "Download Albums" for the week of Sept. 1-7, while the title track "ICONIK" ranked third on the "Hot Shot Song" chart, achieving a "global top-tier" result.
