Singer-actor IU donated a total of 2 billion won on the 18th, the 17th anniversary of her debut, under the name "IUANA," a combination of her name and her fan club name, "UAENA."
According to IU's agency Edam Entertainment on this day, the donation was delivered in the amount of 500 million won each to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, Make-A-Wish Korea, the Heart-Heart Foundation, and the Korea Senior Support Foundation. The funds will be used to support vulnerable groups, including children with intractable diseases, people with disabilities, young people preparing for independence, and seniors living alone.
IU has continued to make donations under the name "IUANA" on meaningful days such as her debut anniversary, birthday, and year-end and New Year holidays. In Mar., she donated 2 billion won to support victims of large wildfires in the Gyeongsang region and to improve treatment for firefighters, and in May this year, she contributed 1.5 billion won for children and adolescents to mark Children's Day. On her birthday the same month, she donated 2 billion won to support vulnerable groups.
IU is filming her next drama, "Grand Princess of the 21st Century."
