-Sung Si-kyung bowed his head twice over controversy of not registering one-person agency-
-Internet users "admission was quick vs management was lax" reactions split-
Singer Sung Si-kyung, after it was revealed that he operated a one-person agency for 14 years without registering for public culture and arts planning business, offered a sincere apology twice.
Earlier, Sung Si-kyung's agency SK Jaewon acknowledged that after establishing the corporation it failed to recognize amendments to related laws and operated in an unregistered state, and said it is in the process of completing the registration procedure. Later, on the 18th Sung Si-kyung posted a long message on his social media and offered a second apology directly to fans and the public.
He said, "It is clearly the company's fault that it did not promptly recognize that the system was implemented in 2014," and bowed his head, adding, "I will take this opportunity to strictly reflect on myself and act responsibly." He also explained, "The failure to register is completely unrelated to income concealment or tax evasion. Income has been reported transparently through an accountant."
Responses from internet users were mixed. Some criticized, "Management was too lax for 14 years," and "A responsible artist should have been meticulous from the start," while others evaluated positively, saying, "The attitude of admitting and trying to correct it is quick and sincere," and "At least it doesn't seem like he tried to hide it."
While evaluations continue that the public's disappointment over long-standing management negligence still remains, attention is focused on how Sung Si-kyung's second apology, conveyed with sincerity, will be received by the public.
