Actor Lee Byung-hun won his fourth best actor award at the Busan Ilbo Film Awards with the film "Seungbu."
The 34th Busan Ilbo Film Awards ceremony was held on the 18th at Signiel Busan. Under the hosting of actors Kim Nam-gil and Chun Woo-hee, Lee Byung-hun won the best actor award for the film "Seungbu."
Lee Byung-hun opened by saying, "I will share this honor with director Kim Hyung-joo, who made 'Seungbu,' and the staff and actors who worked with me." He continued, "The subject of baduk was, even to me at first, something I thought might be a bit boring and static. But when you go into it, it is a more brutal and fierce competition than any war. There is drama, and I thought many people compare baduk to life," he said as his impression.
He said, "I actually have a very deep connection with the Busan Ilbo Film Awards. Two years ago I won my third best actor award for 'Concrete Utopia.' They give you a gold award if you win best actor three times. This time is the fourth," he trailed off, then added, "No. I'm satisfied with this," prompting laughter from the audience.
Lee Byung-hun also said, "Looking at the history of the Busan Ilbo Film Awards, it started in 1958, stopped for a long time in the middle, and this year is the 34th Busan Ilbo Film Awards. I have worked in film for 30 years, but if you count my broadcasting work it seems to be my 35th year. The Busan Ilbo Film Awards, compared with my acting life, has reached an age like a friend. I hope that the Busan Ilbo Film Awards and I will continue to see each other often in the future."
Finally he added, "My new film "No Other Choice" will meet audiences next week. I hope many of you here will take an interest and come to see the film."
