'Radio Star' Ong Seong-wu raised expectations by signaling the possibility of a Wanna One reunion.
On the 17th broadcast of MBC variety show 'Radio Star', in the 'Guilty human compilation.ZIP' special featuring Jeong Bo-seok, Lee Seok-hoon, Ong Seong-wu, and Woozi, Ong Seong-wu opened up about a Wanna One reunion.
That day Ong Seong-wu recalled his time on 'Produce 101'. He said, "I couldn't adapt. There were all middle school friends and they were like 'ppuing ppuing' and I remember doing that for the first time. I said, 'National producers, please take a candy.' What am I supposed to do with this," he confessed.
He continued, "The other kids were so good. They would say 'save it.' I was worried if I could do this, but as I did it, I started doing it. At some point I was doing the ultimate aegyo," he said, showing aegyo and drawing laughter.
He added, "We must not lose our original intention even now," referencing something producer Lee Seok-hoon said at the time, and said, "I'll dance the freestyle that made people say 'He's a man, but it's a strange feeling,'" performing it for the first time in eight years.
In particular, when asked whether fans could expect to see Wanna One perform together on one stage again, Ong Seong-wu expressed regret, saying, "Honestly, I would do it right away if I could, but some members are serving in the military and some have to go now."
When Kim Gu-ra mentioned Park Ji-hoon, asking, "Does he have to go into storage?" Ong Seong-wu replied that Lee Dae-hwi and Kang Daniel also have to go.
However, Ong Seong-wu said, "It will take a few years to become a special concert, so it's difficult right now. Still, we can see each other anytime," expressing his willingness to reunite and raising expectations.
Meanwhile, Ong Seong-wu recounted an episode that made his close friend Shin Ye-eun cry. He said, "While filming the drama 'The Odds of Love' I became very close with actress Shin Ye-eun," and added, "We filmed in Jeju for a month. Because we were so close, we sometimes bicker," he began.
He continued, "Then we ended up arguing while eating. While talking I said, 'Enough. Stop talking,' and Ye-eun suddenly started crying. I was taken aback and said, 'Why are you crying? I'm sorry,'" he explained the situation at the time.
Ong Seong-wu, who said he is still close with Shin Ye-eun, said, "Ye-eun said, 'It's fine if I get mad and we fight, but what about stopping someone from speaking while we're talking?' I apologized. The conversation got heated and I cut her off. I shouldn't have done that," he apologized again.
