In Disney+'s first original historical drama 'The Murky Stream', Ahn Ji-hye will captivate viewers with sharp action and deep acting.
Disney+'s first original historical drama 'The Murky Stream' is an action drama about people who dreamed different dreams to overturn a corrupt world and live like human beings, centered on Gyeonggang, where all of Joseon's money and goods gather. Director Chu Chang-min, who drew 10 million viewers in 2012 with 'Masquerade', took the helm, and screenwriter Cheon Seong-il, presenting a historical series 14 years after 'Chuno', wrote the script, making it a work that has received much anticipation even before its release.
Ahn Ji-hye played the role of the female lead in the drama. She is a subordinate who thinks of Wang-hae (played by Kim Dong-won) as a benefactor who allowed her to live like a person in a barren world and follows him. She is a character who follows Wang-hae without hesitation for his sake.
This year Ahn Ji-hye played Staff Sergeant Lee Eun-ho of the Air Force special forces in the Netflix film Wilderness, performing high-difficulty action herself, and through KBS2 drama Twelve's Malsuk she showcased raw, vivid action and established herself as South Korea's NO.1 action actress.
In this The Murky Stream, in addition to her signature agile action, she is expected to present even deeper acting by delicately expressing the character's emotional line.
'The Murky Stream' will be released exclusively on Disney+, starting with episodes 1–3 on Sept. 26 (Fri), and will release two episodes each week, for a total of nine episodes.
