Actor the late No Young-guk passed away two years ago already.
No Young-guk suddenly ended his life from cardiac arrest in the early morning of Sep. 18, 2023. He was 75.
At the time, he was appearing in the KBS2 weekend drama "Hyosim's family, survive each on their own" and the sad news came only two episodes after the first broadcast, causing shock and sorrow.
Born in 1948, the late actor took his first steps into acting on the theater stage in 1967, and officially debuted in 1975 as a 7th class recruit talent of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). After that, he left a deep presence by appearing in major works such as "Taejong Yi Bang-won", "Eyes of Dawn", "Empire's Morning", "The Rebel", and "I Love You Ten Million Times". He was active in many areas, not only in dramas but also hosting documentary programs and pursuing activities as a singer.
Especially through "Hyosim's family, survive each on their own," he returned to living rooms after a year and played Kang Jin-beom, chairman of Taesan Group, and his sudden death left greater regret because he could not be with the work until the end.
At the time, the production team and fellow actors honored him, saying, "We will fill the teacher's vacancy well and complete the work to the end."
No Young-guk's burial place is the Seoul Municipal Crematory. Even now, two years later, juniors and viewers remember his earnest acting and warm smile and mourn him.
